About Me
Hi there! Or should I say hi, future me? 😊
Because I know I will be reading this at least a hundred times to celebrate finally ending a decade of procrastination.
I’ve always wanted to write and bought cute notebooks to motivate myself. But every time I tried, I either fell into the deep hole of perfectionism or just cared too much about how it would turn out.
But recently, life reminded me in a sad way that we should not postpone the things we want to do. Years pass a bit too quickly, and we never know where life will take us.
So, here I am, writing my first blog post. I like many things in life, but one main constant since my childhood has been movies. My mum loved watching Midsomer Murders every Friday, and the whole family knew about it. Sometimes our plans revolved around “important” movie dates. When I went to boarding school for high school, the town I lived in didn’t have much to offer except cinemas. Sometimes, I would realize that I had already watched every single movie currently showing at the cinema! That continues to this day; I am one of the few people around me who still regularly goes to the cinema.
Some movies stay with me for a lifetime. I kind of want to honour them and sometimes take a deep dive into them here. Who knows, maybe I will rewatch them in 15–20 years and read my old thoughts here? 😊
I’m in my early thirties but have visited almost forty countries. I know it’s just a number, but I’ve always had this kind of game in my mind: the number of countries I’ve visited must always be higher than my age!
I love visiting unusual destinations. So, you won’t see me in Greece during summer, but you might find me in Norway or Iceland.
I love visiting museums and learning more about history and art. Seeing sculptures that are three or four thousand years old makes me feel so small in this world and reminds me that our lifetime is only a brief moment in history. Since I am an empath, seeing happiness and pain expressed through art makes me feel connected to the artists.
Lastly, as someone who tends to observe everything around her, I have plenty of thoughts about everyday life. You’ll probably find some of them here too.
Hope you enjoy reading my digital diary.
